“There are no Gods in Kemet!”

Lecture by Akinjide Bonotchi Montgomery

Recorded Sunday, October 20, 2013, 3:00-4:00 pm. Eastern Time

Size 256MB

The term NTR, with vowels spelled Netcher, has been too often miss-translated as “God“. Translating Netcher as god has become common practice, this practice was started by early European translators. The practice of mistranslating NTR as “God” has continued because of convention not because of the accuracy of the translation. In this discussion and presentation we will examine the term NTR/Netcher from an African worldview; this will enable us to find English words and concepts that more accurately express what the Africans of Kemet meant.
